About Hyde Phillips – Sutton Coldfield
Hyde has been an At Home Fitness personal trainer for over 10 years, delivering sessions to hundreds of clients across the areas of Sutton Coldfield, Four Oaks, Mere Green, Streetly and Lichfield and many of the surrounding areas. His specialty and passion is helping people make sustainable lifestyle changes that lead to weight loss, strength and fitness – and all round improvements in mental and physical health.
Like many of our Personal Trainers, Hyde has always loved sport but didn’t intend to make a career out of it. At Aston University he studied computing, but spent much of his time playing sport and represented his university in both hockey and squash. He has combined his Personal Training knowledge with his sporting expertise to run fitness sessions for National League hockey club Doncaster Ladies and the Nottinghamshire junior hockey development squad.
In addition to being a Personal Trainer, Hyde has further qualifications in children’s fitness, exercise for older adults, GP Referral and a specialist level 4 qualification in Low Back Pain management. His experience combined with his specialist knowledge allows him to work with a large range of people of all age groups and including those with specialist needs.
Outside of his one to one training, Hyde also co-owns and directs the At Home Fitness brand, equipping other personal trainers to set up their own local At Home Fitness personal training businesses across the country.

Personal Training Stories
One of my recent clients in Sutton Coldfield was suffering from constant pain and tightness in both shoulders. It had been a problem for a few years so he didn’t mention it when he started Personal Training, he had just put it down to getting older.
After a few personal training sessions we began to realise that, whilst he was relatively strong, his chest and shoulder muscles were excessively tight. I instigated a programme of stretching and some home rehabilitation work, alongside strength training in his personal training sessions. This programme led to a gradual loosening of the tightness in his shoulders and after a few weeks he noticed a marked improvement.
A few months on, my client now tells me that the pain and discomfort he experienced for many years now barely bothers him at all, and we only need to do occasional stretching to maintain this. Furthermore, he has had great results in the rest of his fitness training, losing around two stone and he now runs regularly in Sutton Park in his own time.
